Gertrude was a teacher at Millwood Elementary for over 25 years. She also taught Sunday School at Millwood Baptist Church and was an avid gardener and farmer. She was a mother to all.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James G. Cotton; and sister, Tinnie Freed Webb. She is survived by her children: Marilyn Sterling, Sally Old Crow & husband Kendall, John G. Cotton & wife Vicki, Jane Williams & husband Bill, Tom Cotton & wife Cindy, Susan Hunt & husband Andy, and Tina O’Connell; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, John Clifford Freed; and numerous other family members and friends.
Viewing will be at Baggerley Funeral Home, Friday, from 9am to 8pm. A celebration of Gertrude’s life will be 10am, Saturday, January 24, at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City.
