Grace Erma McEwen

Grace Erma (Habben) McEwen (Grandma Grace), age 103, entered Heaven December 4, 2016. Born March 23, 1913, to W.H. (Joe) and Ethel (Tiller) Habben, Grace grew up in and around the Jones area. In 1933, she married W.D. (Woodie) McEwen. They had three children, Yvonne Opal, John Edward, and Billy Ray , and were farmers most of their lives. After the death of her husband, Grace worked for the Oklahoma County Health Department until retirement in 1976. Grace was a long time member of the Jones United Methodist Church, participated in many community activities, and was a charter member of the Jones Historical Society. She was particularly proud of her 70 years active membership in the Jones Rebekah Lodge. She loved to read, garden, travel, play cards, and especially loved gathering with members of her large extended family. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Clyde Habben, sister Ruth Wilson, daughter Yvonne Lopp, and grandson Larry Lopp. She is survived by her 2 sons, 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at Jones United Methodist Church at 10:00am, Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, with burial at Jones IOOF Cemetery.
