Harriett E. (Killcrease) Berryhill, 84, formerly of Edmond passed peacefully from this life on August 23, 2022. Services have been entrusted to the care of Baggerley Funeral Home in Edmond. A celebration of Harriett’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 29th at Edmond’s First United Methodist Church at 305 E. Hurd in Edmond. A formal visitation will take place on Monday morning at 9am at the church. Interment will follow the service at Gracelawn Cemetery. Harriett Eunice Killcrease was born on November 6, 1937 in Wewoka, OK to Simon and Adelia “Muzzie” Killcrease. She graduated from Hugo High School in 1956 and married her high school sweetheart Charlie Berryhill. Harriett and Charlie honeymooned in Oklahoma City and lived for a short time in Mesquite, TX. In 1969 they relocated to Edmond, OK where they raised four wonderful children during their 65 years together.
In the early 1970’s Harriett went to work in the Human Resources Department at Deaconess Hospital, a job she enjoyed for more than three decades. She made many wonderful friends during her time a Deaconess and she lovingly referred to her group of female coworkers as “The Old Bitty Committee.” Harriett’s relationship with the Lord was an important part of her life and she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Edmond for over 30 yrs.
Harriett Berryhill was an artistic and talented woman who was proud of her Chickasaw heritage. She enjoyed painting, reading books, and doing puzzles. Harriett was a skilled baker and she had the honor of being selected to make cakes for Governor Nigh and Assistant Secretary of the Interior Neal McCaleb. She also enjoyed sewing and she made many wonderful stuffed animals and clothing items for her kids and grandkids. Christmas was Harriett’s favorite time of year. She listened to Christmas music year round and she looked forward to gifting each family member with a special Christmas ornament.
Harriett was a loving wife, a caring mother, a proud grandmother and a trusted friend. She will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Charlie Berryhill and her parents Simon and Adelia Killcrease. Harriett is survived by four children: Lisa Everley and husband Brian of Broken Arrow, daughter Shelli Moore and husband Mark of Oklahoma City, son Brian Berryhill and wife Stephanie of Guthrie, and son Brandon Berryhill and wife Sharus of Broken Arrow. She is also survived by 11 grandkids, 13 great grandkids, and numerous other beloved family members and friends.
