Hubert Cidney Coker

Hubert Cidney Coker, lovingly known as “Cid” passed away on October 10, 2025 at the age of 86 in Edmond OK. Born on July 17, 1939 in Dallas, Texas to James and Mildred (Jordan) Coker. He grew up in the Dallas area along with his sister Ann. Cid joined the Air Force in June 1958. He served four years as an aircraft electrical repairman and electrical tech rep. Two years out of the four years he was stationed in Germany. His character of service was Honorable and received the Good Conduct Medal when he was discharged in June 1962. He then went to work for Caltex Oil in Indonesia. Cid met MaryLou in Indonesia and later married in July 1965. Cid and MaryLou have 3 sons together and they were involved with their sons' sporting events. In 1985 their marriage was dissolved. In 1987 Cid moved to Oklahoma. In the fall of 1987 Cid met Harolyn (Deaton) Holscher. He later met Harolyn’s son and two daughters. In September 1989 Cid and Harolyn exchanged vows and raised her younger daughter together in Edmond, OK while the other two were grown. He never called Harolyn’s children his step-children, but as his own children. He was the happiest, strongest, caring man and would help anyone who needed it. He would start singing songs really loud from the 1950’s era, especially early in the morning when getting ready for work and all the time after he retired in 2012. He always loved making people laugh.

Cid absolutely loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He always loved having the grandkids and great grandkids helping him with things in his garage/shop, backyard and/or in the house. He would always hug you when you were coming in and when you were leaving no matter where we were. He was proud of all of his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He loved to tell everyone about his family and how much they meant to him.

He is deeply missed by his family and friends. Cid leaves behind his wife of 36 years Harolyn Coker. His sister Ann Rossen of Tx. His children Tom Coker and wife Diana of Aubrey TX, Daniel Coker of Tx, Preston Hoelscher and wife Janice of Chapman, KS, Gwen Riley and husband Travis of Clinton, OK, Heather McDonald and husband Michael of Edmond, OK. Grandkids Jordan Coker and husband Jordan Ewton of Royce City, TX, Cid Lucas Jr Coker of The Colony, TX, Paula Aday and fiance Bobby Brawdy of Mustang, OK, Ashley Riley of Clinton, OK, Austin McDonald of Edmond, OK, and Alex and husband Cole Martinez of Fort Campbell, KY. Great grandkids Emalyn, Lathan, Boston and sister due in April of ‘26, and Wyatt. Brother in law Fred Knight, along with several nieces and nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Mildred Coker, Son Cid Coker, brother in laws Travis Rosson, Johnny Deaton, Jim Deaton, sister in law Sharon Deaton Knight and daughter in law Andrea (Andy) Phillips Gibson. The One and Only Great Hubert Cidney Stinky Buster Budro Tabolaski Puny Coker and Ol’ Buffalo.
