Inge was born Ingeborg U. Hundt on January 28, 1925 in Berlin, Germany to parents Paul and Martha Hundt. At age 2, she traveled with her family to the United States on a ship, entering at Ellis Island.
Inge married Henry R. Hales and they had two children, Conrad and Janice.
She worked for Bank of America for many years, and later went on to own and run her own restaurant / bar with her late husband, Donald Stobie, in Salton Sea, California.
In the ‘80s, the restaurant, named The Rowboat, became a popular place to eat, have a beer or malt, shoot pool, play cards, pinball machines, air hockey, or even listen to the fine tunes on the player piano. Her grandchildren also enjoyed many a summer there.
Inge moved to Oklahoma in 2001 with her late husband Myron Curtis, where they purchased a home and enjoyed their Model A and spending time with family and friends.
She enjoyed crocheting and being on the computer, on which she was an active day stock trader and, for many years, avidly worked on her family genealogy on ancestry.com.
She loved eating ding-dongs with her morning coffee, for a very long time, and, more recently, switched to donut cakes. She liked a good margarita and enjoyed watching football on Sundays. She also loved her dog, Duffy, who preceded her in death.
Inge was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
She is survived by her son, Conrad Hales; daughter, Janice Roberts (Bill Barnhill); grandchildren: Sandra Hales (Nathan Miller), Cynthia Swink (Rick Swink), Chad Roberts, Jessica Strano (Jason Strano), Laurie Gibson (John Gibson), and Kristie Hales (Jason Allen); great-grandchildren: Frank, Samantha, Brandon, Tyler, Austin, Adam, Alyssa H, Andrew, Chaz, Alyssa S, Jace, Megan, Christian, Daniel, Garrett, Ethan, Emily, and Xavier; great-great grandson, Luke; more great-grandchildren: Morgan, (Cameron), Jaxson, Tatum, and Carly; great-great grandsons, Thatcher and Emmerich; niece, Deborah (Tim Haight) Hundt-Webber; nephews, Dennis (Cherie) Hundt and Dave (Carrie) Hundt; and many other nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends.
