James Peter Carlson

Memorial services for James Peter Carlson will be held at 2:30 pm, Monday, April 28, 2014 at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel. Step-son Jerry Parker will officiate. James was born in Minneapolis, MN on September 17, 1932 to his parents Arthur and Vivian (Hyland) Carlson. He moved to Oklahoma in 1959 and worked for GM for 32 years before retiring in 1991. He was a perfectionist , a paint and body man and a wonderful wood worker. Jim enjoyed reading, watching sports, refurbishing cars and tractors and he liked mowing his lawn. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Virginia Auvin; and brothers Larry and Joel Carlson. He is survived by his wife Ruth Carlson of the home; sons Mike Carlson and wife Pam of Edmond, OK and Tom Carlson and wife Michele of Harrah, OK; daughters Kathy Siggins of Edmond, OK and Amy Ball and husband Steven of Oklahoma City, OK; step-sons Jerry Parker and wife Janie and Ronnie Parker and wife Viki all of Wichita Falls, TX; step-daughter Judy Stout and husband Steve of El Paso, TX; brother David Carlson and wife Judy; sister Phyllis Newman both of Minneapolis; sister-in-laws Suzette Carlson of New Hope, MN and Sue Dodrill and husband Cecil of Perkins, OK; brother-in-law Bob Knol and wife Pat of Oklahoma City, OK. He is also survived by grandchildren Lynzi and Caiti Carlson, Tyler Carlson, David and Jenni Siggins, Jeremiah and Jed Siggins, Marcus and wife Chrissy Willis, Kristen, LaShanda Willis, Stephanie and Shelly Stout, and Jeremy and Devin Parker, Kraig and Sarah Elkins, Abi Parker and Kayla and Dr. Chad Harris; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
