Throughout his life, Corky called several Oklahoma communities home. He lived in Barnsdall until 1969, then in Blackwell from 1969 to 1997, Tonkawa from 1997 to 2010, and finally settled in Jones, Oklahoma, where he remained for the rest of his life.
Corky was known as a man of common sense, remarkable problem-solving ability, and a work ethic that never quit. Sharp as a tack and quick on his feet, he could tackle just about any challenge that came his way. He taught his family countless practical skills, from car maintenance to driving, and was always the person others turned to when something needed fixing or figuring out.
Family was at the center of Corky’s life. He wanted those he loved to know that he loved them unconditionally. He worked tirelessly and made countless sacrifices to provide opportunities and a better life for his family. He was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren and found great joy in watching them grow and achieve their goals.
Corky loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed camping, fishing, sailing, and family vacations. His perfect day was one spent on the water with the people he loved most. He had a special passion for his sailing and was known for his playful, ornery sense of humor. He enjoyed teasing those he loved, snacking on Cheetos and M&M’s, and relaxing with late-night television favorites such as The Benny Hill Show and The Red Green Show.
