

John Arthell Hunt, 74, passed away on July 2, 2024, in Edmond, Oklahoma. Born on March 21, 1950, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, John spent most of his life as a resident of the state and cherished the outdoors and his community. He loved spending time with family especially his many cousins. Growing up he spent time in Carney, Oklahoma, Mulvane, Kansas, but mostly Choctaw, Oklahoma.
John graduated from Choctaw High School and dedicated many years as an equipment operator at Macklanburg-Duncan, also known as MD Products. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his love for nature and adventure. John found joy in camping, fishing, hiking, and taking tranquil walks. He was also an avid movie watcher and enjoyed reading and spending quality time with family and friends.
John's faith was an important aspect of his life, and attended various churches throughout his life. He was baptized when he was 12 years old.
John was a beloved family man, survived by his children, Benjamin and Holly Hunt, John and Alesha Hunt, and Cora Hunt. He was a proud grandfather to Jordan, Ethan, Evan, Lillian, Toby, Ainsley, and Carson. His sisters, Linda Martinez, Mary and her husband David Green, Carol and her husband Douglas Pruitt, and his brother Ronald and his wife Patricia Hunt, also survive him. John was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Hazel Hunt, his brother Gregory Hunt, and his brother-in-law Edward "Marty" Martinez.
John's life will be celebrated by spreading his ashes at the family land in Carney, Oklahoma, on the weekend of July 19th, 2024. For more details about the ceremony, please reach out to a family member.
