Katheren Joyce Webber, 72, went home Tuesday, April 10 after a long fight with breast cancer. Joyce was born in Oakland, California on October 29, 1945 to Roxford A. Sparks and Naomai(Talbot) Sparks. Joyce attended McClain High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated in 1963. She married her high school sweetheart, Pepper Webber, in 1964. The family spent time living in Arkansas, Colorado and Louisiana before settling in Oklahoma. Joyce has been a resident of Edmond, Oklahoma for over thirty years. Her love for children and the Lord led to various jobs within her community ranging from Head Start teacher to elementary school library assistant to church secretary. Her favorite job was homemaker, mother and helpmate. Her family will miss her chicken fried steak, handsewn costumes and her equal opportunistic love for chianti and Community coffee.
