I didn't know Mr. Apel as well as I should have, however in the few years I was in Oklahoma I learned of the hero he was in his ability to be such a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend. He made me laugh and in David, Tracy and Wendy, I can see how special he was as they are a reflection of him. He loved his family very much and they in turn became beautiful individuals because of him. My heart is heavy with sadness but not for him as he is in heaven, but for all of his family, friends, and myself who will miss him greatly. Let's keep his legacy alive by honoring him in the way he honored everyone else, by being kind and loving everyone for who they are.

This incredible memorial to Ken was beautifully prepared by his loving family. Ken spoke to me of the special times and memories he shared with his family and he especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. The ladies at his school, always spoke so highly of him and I know he made a deep unforgettable impression on them. I had the privilege of knowing Ken for almost 26 years, as he took care of Rose Acres for me and my parents. I'm grateful for all the years we knew each other, Ken was the brother I always wanted. He will be a part of my heart forever and one day we will meet again on the other side. God bless you Ken and as always, I love you too and now you are free to again be the strong healthy man God created you to be.
