Leland "Doug" Jernigan

Leland Douglas "Doug" Jernigan was freed from the pain of this life on September 26, 2015. Doug was born on January 5, 1943 in North Carolina. Doug worked for 30 years for Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital. Known as the "blind man," Doug worked in maintenance and repair. Doug moved to Oklahoma in the 1990s and finished his career at Bradford Village Retirement Village in Edmond, OK. Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Martha Jernigan, his brother, Marvin Jernigan, Jr., and his sister, Susan Brown. He is survived by his wife, Lynna; his step-son Leland Jones, his step-daughters, Leah Eastman and husband Ronnie, and Hollie Bowden and husband, Billy; his grandchildren, Alan and Kevin Jones, Eden and Emma Eastman, and Yuna Bowden; his sister, Cecelia Chafin, and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Viewing will be Wednesday, September 30 from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Memorial services for Doug will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015. Viewing and services will be at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 S. Broadway, Edmond, OK.

We will miss you sweet husband, father, brother, uncle, and paw-paw.
