Linda Lea Cockrell, 70 of Edmond, OK died Wednesday 2-17-16 with her family by her side. She was born 3-14-45 in Cushing, OK. She was married to Charles Jerry Cockrell and had 2 children. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Misty Faubush. She is survived by her daughter, Kristina Parsons; brother, Lawton Brightwell; sister, Sharla LaFollette; sister, Janice Dewell; brother, Kent Prickett; sister, Cindy Frame; and sister, Tammy Bevel.
She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone as a database manager and was instrumental in the development of fiber optics, which are still being used today. She loved her family. She always thought of everyone before herself. She was very giving of her time and talents. She loved reading, piano, and sewing and made so many different things for her family like quilts and intricate doll clothing. She also helped make costumes for church plays. She was the best babysitter. Every kid that she babysat thought she was amazing. She would spoil them and then tell them stories. Some were classic and some she made up, but they all had dramatic body language and sound effects. Her favorite thing though, was her church. Each member was a valued dear friend and she loved them so much. It was her deepest wish that everyone has a personal relationship with Jesus and knows how much He loves you.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be 10:00am, Saturday, February 20, 2016, at First Free Will Baptist Church 4306 Jordan Ave, Edmond, OK 73013.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Freewill Baptist Church 4306 Jordan Ave, Edmond, OK 73013.
