Mona Jean Colley

Mona was born October 29, 1930, to Albert & Mildred Carver of OKC. She loved her family above all else and instilled strong values and open hearts in her children & grandchildren. Mona loved traveling the world and seeing the many beautiful sites (nature & man-made), exploring various ways of living, and enjoying all the adventures that came with traveling. Everyone she met became a friend for life, and she welcomed everyone into her home. She was an amazing hostess and enjoyed giving dinner parties for all occasions. Mona was full of life, funny, stylish, creative, and had a tremendous smile and fantastic laugh with a radiant spirit.

In 1972, Mona was hired at the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association as Executive Secretary and served as Executive Secretary to the State Pension Board until 1981. At which time, she earned her real estate license and became a Realtor® for Century 21 in Edmond for the next dozen years. Mona and her late husband were active with the Jewel Box Theatre from 1958 – the 1980s.

Mona is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Robert J Colley and her parents Albert & Mildred Carver of Oklahoma City.

She is survived by her sister Ione Brown; son Clay Colley; daughter Barboura Jan and husband Jim Wysocki; several grandchildren: Erin Knoroski & husband Aaron, Chris Weeks & wife Kelli, Chad Colley & wife Tessa, Stefanie Amaral & husband Paul, and Lindsay McShane & husband Chris; great-grandchildren: Alex & wife Danielle, Ryan and Kati Weeks, Jake Knoroski, Leah Amaral, and Quinn & William Colley; step-grandchildren: Joe & wife Meadow Wysocki, Debra & husband Darren Gorham, and Janelle Wysocki; step-great-grandchildren: Joe Jr & wife Ally, Jonny, Trina Wysocki, Geoff Pickering, and Brylee Gorham; and numerous other beloved family members.

The family is thankful to the staff at Teal Creek Assisted Living and OK Complete and Hospice for the outstanding care they provided. Both the staff & residents made Mona feel like family with the care, compassion, respect and genuine kindness.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mona Colley will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 20, 2022, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7801 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73132. A gathering of friends & family will be held directly after the service at the home of Jim & Jan Wysocki.
