Norman Lee Dunn (Lee) was born on July 19, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Delphine and Roy Dunn. After graduating from Northeast High School, he joined the United States Air Force where he served in France during the Korean War. Upon returning to Oklahoma City, Lee attended Central State College and Oklahoma City University. In 1955, he married Darlene Golden, and together they were blessed with three wonderful children and three beautiful grandchildren.
For the past 52 years, Lee worked in the lighting industry. He owned and operated Lamp Service, Inc. In 1985, with his youngest son, Tim, Lee opened The Light Bulb Store. Lee loved spending time at his place at Lake Eufaula, boating and fishing, and was a long-time member of Metropolitan Baptist Church. He also loved spending as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren.
Lee is survived by Darlene, his wife of 57 years, his daughter Shelly Dunn of San Diego, CA, his son Darren Dunn and wife Janice Yeary of Oklahoma City, his son Tim Dunn of Oklahoma City, and his grandchildren Jessica West and husband Josh West of Yukon, Andrew Dunn of Oklahoma City, and Hannah Oden of Edmond. He is also survived by his half sisters Kathy Hopkins of St. George, Utah, and Patti Nelson of Elko, Nevada.
Services will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Baggerley Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Oklahoma Chapter of the March of Dimes, 5100 N. Brookline, Ste. 850, Oklahoma City, OK 73112. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Fountains at Canterbury for taking such wonderful care of Lee during the last few months.
