

Major Philip Andrew Nicklas, beloved husband, father and brother, passed away peacefully on at his home with his family at his side, on November 14, 2025 at the age of 63. He was the youngest child born to Bill and Fern Nicklas in Shawnee, Ok on January 12, 1962.
Philip is survived by his devoted wife, Tamara Nicklas, daughter Natalie and son, Joshua, all of Edmond Ok. He is also survived by his sisters, Jane Gray (Peter) of Edmond and Carolyn Sallee, of Charleston SC, and brothers, David and Daniel of Shawnee OK, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tom, and his sister-in-law, Kathy Nicklas.
Throughout his life, he was cherished for his warmth, kindness and unwavering dedication to his family, friends and his country. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Philip deployed 2 times to Iraq, 2 times to Afghanistan and 1 time to Qutar, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn. He served 31 years on active duty in the U.S. Army, retiring at the rank of Major in January 2025. He received the Legion of Merit, 2 bronze stars, and numerous campaign medals.
Visitation is scheduled for November 18, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034. A prayer service will also take place at the same venue on November 18, 2025, from 6:00 pm.
The Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on November 19, 2025, at 1:00 pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 900 S Littler Ave, Edmond, OK 73034.
A committal service will be held at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, located at 7500 W Britton Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73132, on November 19, 2025, starting at 2:30 pm.
