

Robert Lansing Jean was born on January 2, 1949 to William and Charlene Jean. He died on September 27, 2017 at the age of 68. He left behind two children, a son William Gilbert Jean and a daughter, Robin Borden, both of Amarillo, TX; two younger sisters, Toni Wallace and Mary Bolling, of Edmond, and one brother, Charles Jean of Oklahoma City. He also left behind; 7 grandchildren, Ashten Fisher, John Walthall, Alexandria Lily, Jordan Jean, Jacob Jean, Aryanna Jean, Ava Jean; 3 great-grandchildren Jace Lilly, Payton Walthall, Faith Slagle and numerous nieces and nephews.
From an early age, Robert was a defender of the down trodden and underprivileged. He was regarded by his siblings as a poet, musician, warrior, and protector. Following his graduation from North High School,in Des Moines, Iowa, Robert served two tours in Vietnam. After his time in the army, Robert settled in Amarillo, TX where he raised his two children and attended and graduated from Amarillo Community College with a degree in Business Accounting. Robert later moved to his mother's hometown, Des Moines,Iowa where he helped care for his sister-in-law Wanda, his older brother Bill Jean, and his cousin Harry Siler. His last few years were spent at Sky View Nursing Center in Oklahoma City to be near his surviving siblings, Toni, Mary, and Charlie.
