He was born in Dearborn, Michigan on September 8th, 1941, son of Catherine McDermott and Columb McGill.
After Bob earned a Ph.D. in Acting and Directing from the University of Michigan, he went on to teach and direct at many universities throughout his life, including Wayne State University in Michigan, The University of Oklahoma and The University of Central Oklahoma.
He also directed many productions for Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park.
In his later years he turned his attention to poetry, writing his first collection entitled FIND YOUR SONG.
Survived by his wife Kathryn McGill, his children Connor and Elliot McGill, and his sister Kathleen McGill.
A casual reception celebrating Bob’s life will be held at Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park, 2920 Paseo in Oklahoma City on June 22nd from 4-7pm.
