On Saturday the 5th of September at 1:16pm 2020, Roberto Fajardo peacefully passed away to be with his lord and savior at the age of 67.

Roberto was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala on October 27, 1952. He is predeceased by his mother Basilia Fajardo and survived by the love of his life of 32 years, Vilma Alejandra Fajardo. He will be lovingly remembered by his 6 adult children, their spouses and 11 grandchildren.

Roberto worked at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco CA for 40 years. He started as a dishwasher, worked his way up to a busboy and finished his career as a banquet waiter. After his retirement in 2016 he relocated to Oklahoma along with his wife Vilma and two younger daughters to join his two older sons and their families.

He was a well known customer at Jimmy’s Egg in Edmond where he enjoyed eating breakfast almost everyday. He loved spending time with family and wouldn’t leave without first having his “cafecito y pan”. He was a friendly man who always had a warm smile and would wave hello to everyone. He loved telling jokes, and was always willing to lend a hand whenever needed. He was a big sports fan who loved the 49ers, SF Giants, GS Warriors, and cheered for his ultimate favorite soccer team Barcelona. He was an avid chess player who enjoyed playing it everyday. However the most important thing to him was to glorify God by serving selflessly at his home church Life Church.

Roberto was a loving, gentle, kind, and caring man of God who will deeply be missed by many.

Roberto was such a huge blessing to our family. I have been at Life.Church for over 20 years, and Roberto has been one of the biggest blessings to me. My family attended service on Sunday nights. This is where we met Roberto and got to know him. I would get a hug every Sunday as we would catch up. He would ask about all of my kids every time we talked. We will miss him so much. He was an incredible man, and I wish I could have had more time with him. Blessings and love to the family. The Donaldson's loved Roberto and love you all, and I know Roberto is hearing the words from Jesus, "Well done my good and faithful servant".

Hi I'm Jaime Santos ,
I'm Roberto's co-worker at Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco . He is a
good & honest friend and we both love to play chess. Our day will not be complete if we don't play chess before we start to work. A very caring co-worker to everyone and always have a smile on his face even though we don't have enough sleep doing our double shift function. May you rest in peace Roberto and send our regards to the rest of the Blue Eyes there on the other side including
Rinno Dacumos who you will meet in heaven soon .I missed your jokes buddy and the rest of the gang. REST IN PEACE
ROBERTO !🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

We have such fond memories with Roberto Fajardo. Holidays will definitely not be the same with his absence. We remember Christmas 2019 as we all gathered in his living room he shared a very emotional word of gratitude to God for allowing friends and family to celebrate in his home. Every opportunity he had he loved to converse about God’s word, especially end times. If we weren’t discussing eschatology, he was trying to convince me to move to Oklahoma. Every time we visited his home he was very hospitable and kind. We are saddened by his passing but overjoyed that he is in God’s presence! Until we see you again our brother!

Roberto was a strong man of God who thought about his words carefully . When he spoke he with wisdom and authority. If he spoke into you it was to lift you up in brotherly love , he had a way of helping you brush off the bumps and bruises of the world and redirect you to all the blessings you had in your life ,bringing a calm that just made everything ok. And man could he make you laugh on the worst days😊

I met Roberto at Life.Church OKC while working there as an associate host team pastor. We called him Senior. He had such an incredible servant’s heart, a warm smile and never hesitated to correct his kids on how to usher the right way, haha. He left an incredible legacy as a leader and follower of Christ.

I first met Roberto Sr. while serving as an usher at LifeChurch on Sunday evenings. He was wearing an SF hat for the San Francisco Giants, as a California native myself, we began to discuss where we had lived there. We began to connect on sports but we bonded with more than that. He became a part of the Breakfast Bro’s bible study group on Monday Mornings, would help on Wednesday nights at Switch, and still serve Sunday mornings since Sunday evening services had stopped. You could always see him smiling and enjoying talking to people, and he will definitely be missed by all that have had the privilege to have met him. My prayers and my condolences to his family for such a great loss.

Roberto, “Senior” as we all called him, was part of our Host Team at Life Church. He always joined in with whatever we were doing and greeted everyone with a smile. Last December I was unable to serve due to neck surgery, but when I came back in February, Roberto stepped in to help with the communion trays. I used to be able to carry all four at once, but thought after surgery I should only carry two at a time... just in case. Roberto saw me coming, stopped what he was doing and brought the other two trays in. From then on, I’d bring in the first two, and right behind me he brought the second two. I would imagine he led his life that way. He saw a need and jumped in to help, putting others’ needs before his own. His sweet smile and gentle presence will be greatly missed. Deepest condolences to the family. He will be greatly missed by all.❤️
