

Roy Osborn Turner was born January 9, 1927 in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Mamie and Leslie O Turner. He served in the Navy during World War II on board the USS Remey. He married Patricia Johnston in 1952. They had three daughters: Donna, Leslie, and Mary. He has 3 grandchildren: Shawn, Catherine, and Teresa, and 3 great-grandchildren: Sadie, Lily, and Alexander.
In his early years he worked alongside his father at Norton Buick and again at Les Turner’s Garage. He was a Letter Carrier for 30 years in the Oklahoma City area; where he was a favorite with his patrons. After his retirement, he had several interesting jobs including Hilton Inn, Tinker Field Trap and Sheet Range and Southwest Shooter Supply.
Roy was an avid outdoorsman; Fishing, hunting, Trap and Skeet in which he shot over 100,000 registered clay targets. He was a lifetime member of the Oil Capital Gun Club in Tulsa and the Ada Gun club, where he would often take his trailer and camp out for weeks at a time. He has many friends in the Ada area. He shot twice at the Rocky Mountain Invitational in Jackson Hole Wyoming and won the state championship several time in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
He left this world peacefully on June 3, 2015. He is survived by two daughters; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dale Turner of Rhode Island and Gene Turner of Virginia; many nieces and nephews; and Molly, his dog.
