Sam Martin McLean

Sam was the son of Sam William McLean and Jo Ann McLean (Dirksen). He moved from Texas to Oklahoma in 1963 and lived in Edmond for many years. In 1984, he relocated to Piedmont before eventually settling in Arcadia in 2004. He attended Edmond High School and went on to earn an Associate Degree from Oklahoma State University–Oklahoma City.

On April 16, 1976 Sam married the love of his life, Jodee.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Patricia Stockard.

He is survived by his wife, Jodee, daughter Jesse Waltrip and husband Justin, grandchildren Sydnee Clark, Rylee Waltrip, Chandler Clark, and Lauren Ponce, great-grandchildren Gabby and Elena Ponce, and sister Jeannie McLean.

Those who knew Sam will remember him for his steady presence and the life he built over the years in the communities he called home. He valued family, familiarity, and the simple routines of everyday life, leaving behind memories that will be carried forward by those who knew and loved him.
