

Joseph Stanley “Stan” Robertson, 81, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in his sleep May 5, 2013 at his home. He was born February 15, 1932 to Sidney Eugene and Gladys Evadna (Sherriff) Robertson in Hollis, Oklahoma.
Stan graduated from the University of Oklahoma and was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
He worked as a Radar Engineer at Bowing Aerospace before his retirement. Stan was a published author, his book,
“Why Was That Tree In The Garden, Anyway?” was published in 2009 by Millennial Mind Publishing. Stan was passionate in his faith and wanted to share with the world God’s love. Of his book, the publisher writes, “Robertson documents the course of his research and answers to the fundamental incongruities and conflicts that once overshadowed his own faith. Meticulously researched and persuasively presented, this is the story of one believer’s lifelong intellectual journey toward an unbiased, unquestionable compelling understanding of the Creator, the eternal Christ and their relationship to the true inner man within each of us without qualification.”
Stan is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Virginia of the home; son, Craig Robertson of Atlanta, GA; two brothers-in-law, Owen W. Lafferty and wife Cinda and Van Lafferty and wife Clara; special friends, The Busby family and a host of other loving neighbors and friends as well as a cherished group at Gold’s Gym on Danforth. Stan is also survived by four grand-dogs (Craig’s) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Cole.
Out of respect for Stan’s wishes a private service will be held at a later time. Those wishing to honor Stan may do so by contributing to the charity of your choice.
