Stanley Cortland Moore

Stanley C. Moore was born on August 29, 1946 and passed away at Ada Mercy Hospital on Friday, June 1, 2017 from injuries sustained in a car crash. Stan was preceded in death by his parents, L. Forest and Louise Moore of Edmond, OK. He is survived by his sister, Susan C. Steuver, husband John; ex-wife, Sandra E. Moore, son; Stephen C. Moore, wife Leslea; daughter, Samantha C. Carr, husband James; and son Caleb R. Carr, girlfriend Janet K. Nobles.

Stan was a great lover of history. He actively participated in Civil War and WWII reenactments. He enjoyed going around the world visiting historic sites and learning something new. Stan was always ready with a story about the origin of any object. Stan served our nation in the Air Force from 1969 to 1971 obtaining the rank of Sergeant.

Stan’s life will be celebrated at Hope Unitarian Church (8432 South Sheridan Road in Tulsa, OK) at 10am, Thursday, June 8, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Warrior Baptist Church in Checotah, OK in Stan’s name.
