Sylvia was born in Liberal Kansas on March 31, 1940 to Leonard Sr and Viola Tomlin. She married the love of her life Ronnie Jones Sr in 1958 and they were inseparable until his death in 2004. She was a wife and a mom first and foremost in her life and she was very involved in everything for her sons and later for her granddaughter. She was a real estate agent in the Diamond Bar area of California for Century 21 for many years until she moved to Edmond in 2005. She enjoyed playing bridge and became a huge OKC Thunder fan. She enjoyed watching games with her brother Bunny and could get very animated during a close game. Sylvia was very active on social media and loved sharing memes and keeping up with all of her family and friends.
Sylvia had so many plans to spend time with family when she moved to Edmond but battles with serious illness hampered many of her plans. She was often called the energizer bunny because she would be given a bleak prognosis but she would fight with everything she had and would not quit. Even when she was told that she only had a couple of days to live she said "that's between me and God."
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Bobby Jones, as well as brothers Leonard Jr and Paul Tomlin and one sister Betty.
Sylvia is survived by a son Ron Jr of Edmond, a granddaughter Kelsey Brinkley (husband Jayson), great grandson Riggins of California and one brother Albert Tomlin of Edmond. She also leaves behind a beloved cat, Abby and so many other family and friends.
A visitation for Sylvia will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK.
A chapel service will occur Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7500 W Britton Rd, Oklahoma City, OK.
