Thomas Eugene McInturff

Thomas was born on April 30, 1941, in St. Paris, Ohio, to Loren Theodore McInturff and Helen Mary Eileen (Arbrogust) McInturff.

A lifelong learner, Tom earned degrees from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, Plattsburgh State University, and later completed a master’s degree in Systems Management through the University of Southern California. His commitment to education reflected his curiosity, discipline, and desire for continual growth.

Tom faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Major. During his distinguished military career, he flew both B-52 and FB-111 bombers and completed more than 100 combat missions over Vietnam. His service was a source of great pride and exemplified his dedication, courage, and love of country.

Throughout his life, Tom lived in Ohio, Michigan, New York, and Florida before making Oklahoma his home in the mid-1990s.

Tom married Mary Lou Grellner on March 7, 1975, and together for fifty-one years they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

Tom found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved cool jazz, especially the Air Force Hymn, and his favorite color was sky blue. His perfect day was spent reading a good book beneath the shade of a tree. He treasured the companionship of his beloved dogs, whose antics never failed to make him smile, and he especially enjoyed watching his son, Chuck, lovingly tease family members.

An avid sports fan, Tom loved playing fantasy baseball with Chuck and enjoyed watching baseball, basketball, and football. He faithfully cheered for the Oklahoma City Thunder and Ohio State athletics. He was also an active participant in multiple fantasy sports leagues and was a proud member of the American Legion.

Above all, Tom was a man of honor and respect. He taught those around him the importance of integrity, kindness, and treating others with dignity. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a loving grandfather, a proud patriot, and an honest role model whose influence will continue to guide his children and grandchildren for generations to come.

His legacy is one of service, character, and unwavering love for his family and country

Tom is preceded in death by son, Charles James McInturff.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou of the home, sons Kenneth Lee Rother, Matthew P. Rother and his wife Wendy, daughters Kelli Lanae Babbitt, Jamie Theresa Alexander and her husband Andy, and Jodi Ann Gilliss, daughter-in-law Tara McInturff, grandchildren April Brooks, Patrick Rother, Bradi Rother, Landon Rother, Hannah Alexander, Caleb McKenzie, Kobe Gilliss, Jasea Gilliss, Kaeden Gilliss, Landry Gilliss, Seth Cole, Zane Cole, great-grandchildren Braxton and Brantley, and his fur baby, Lilly.

In lieu of flowers donations in Tom’s name can be made out to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Visitation will be held at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034, US, on July 10, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

A Rosary Service will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 211 Missouri Ave #185, Okarche, OK 73762, on July 10, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 211 Missouri Ave #185, Okarche, OK 73762, on July 11, 2026, at 10:30 am.
