February 4, 1957 – July 21, 2019
Heaven gained another angel on Sunday, July 21, 2019 when Thomas Richard Charbeneau passed away unexpectedly.
Thomas, better known as Tom, was born to Richard and Barbara Charbeneau on February 4, 1957. He grew up in Mt. Clemons, Michigan and graduated from Austin Catholic Preparatory in 1975. He worked at the family hardware store in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan for ten years.
Tom moved to Oklahoma City in 1986 where he worked various jobs until he found his passion in the oil industry. He worked as a Landman for twenty years in various counties around the states of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Texas.
He met the love of his life, Kim Wolf, in the summer of 2005. The couple later married on the sunny beaches of Jamaica on December 30, 2010. Tom and Kim have spent their days together ever since, enjoying and loving the life they built. When the oil business took a downturn, Tom began his career as an insurance adjuster, alongside Kim. They would spend their time traveling around the country climbing roofs and writing quotes with their dog, Brody. If they weren’t working on the road, they enjoyed hanging out by their pool. You could always guarantee that when you came to his house for his famous BBQs, you would be welcomed to NPR playing in the garage and be greeted with one of his witty one-liners. His family will remember the ingenious fruity drinks that he would create and the delicious food that he served at these gatherings. Tom would never turn down an opportunity to enjoy mounded ice cream deserts or to shop at SAM’s club.
Tom had a boisterous personality and was a kind and giving spirit. He had a one of kind laugh that his family will forever hear and hold dear in their hearts. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
Tom is survived by beloved wife, Kim. His daughter, Nichole Charbeneau (Andrew) Felton and two grandsons. Parents Richard and Barbara Charbeneau and brother Steven, of Harrison, MI. Brother, Michael (Suzanne) Charbeneau, of Edmond, OK. Sister, Mary (Tim) Mickler, of Beaverton, MI. Mother in law, Lorna (Jim) Newman and sister in law, Shelby (Denis) Winn, of Shawnee, OK. Numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Henninger, brother, Robert Charbeneau and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
