I got to know TJ in 2003 as a sophomore in AP European History. He was assigned the seat two seats in front of me and we quickly became friends. We would talk before class, after class, & during class. I most definitely did not pass the AP test at the end of the year, but looking back on it, it was worth it to make a friend like TJ. He had a funny dry sarcasm that never missed a beat. He was kind and he was warm. He was authentic. 

He mattered a lot to me during those awkward HS years and was one of the people I think about when I think back to that time. I miss him. He was a fantastic person. 

I went to high school with TJ and he was a great friend.  I remember many fun times when he would give me rides to places in his small but awesome Honda CRX.  
We lost touch after high school but we had a chance to meet up briefly at the OU library during my undergrad which was a pleasant surprise.
We were planning on catching up more later on but it unfortunately did not happen and I am sad to know that it will now never happen.

I am so sorry for your loss.  


I’m so sad about this. Troy was an incredible friend to me over the years. We met in 2009, through a few mutual friends.  Had a lot of really fun memories, and he will be greatly missed.  My heart goes out to his family. 

TJ was a fellow classmate and member of the ENHS orchestra. He played viola, I played violin. After graduation, he, Tim Holt and I kept in touch and would hang out regularly. His favorite place to go at that time was Cowboys, where I learned that OKC had a night club with live bull riding. The 3 of us also spent time at his apartment in Edmond, talking about our pasts, our futures, our plans; Whatever life threw our way. I will truly miss talking to TJ about serious things, silly things, and laughing collectively at ourselves. TJ deserved the world. My condolences to the Box family.
