Services are 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Baggerley with burial following in Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
Ms. Moore was born on September 21, 1948, the only child of the late Jerry Lee and Robbie Jenkins Holleman. She worked for Bell South before transitioning to full-time homemaker with the births of her sons. She later built a career in health administration, first working in medical records and later as a medical transcriptionist, from which she retired at age 63. Music was always a big part of Zora's life. She fondly reminisced of Provine High School marching band where she played clarinet. As a young lady, she also played piano and organ for church. It was common for her to enjoy music with a good beat and dance along. Ms. Moore was a true southern belle at heart, with deep roots in Mississippi; however, after 40 years of living in Oklahoma she was just as much an "Okie" who loved to feel the wind come sweeping down the plain - as long as it didn’t mess up her hair. Zora loved to travel and would make the trek to Mississippi every summer to join her dozens of cousins at the Jenkins Family homestead in Attala County for the annual family reunion. There she enjoyed swapping stories against a backdrop of tables packed with favorite family recipes and garden treats such as homegrown tomatoes and butterbeans. She also took several road trips with friends to destinations in surrounding states and would speak of the fun she had exploring new places with them. Perhaps her favorite trips were taken with family to Hawaii, where she had the opportunity to visit numerous times. She loved the tropical breeze, the mountains, the ocean and the waves, as well as the smell of the fresh plumerias. Zora loved Jesus just like many in the family have from generations before. She was a faithful member at Quail Springs Baptist Church, and actively involved in "The Boomers" Sunday School class. Her greatest legacy is that she worked to shine the light of Christ into the lives of her sons, who also love Jesus as their Lord, and they live Gospel-rich lives with this next generation of Moores.
Survivors include: Two sons, Chris Moore and his wife Andrea, of Edmond; and Kerry Moore of Edmond; two grandsons Braydon Moore and his wife Marissa of Oklahoma City; and Cade Moore and his wife Lily of Oklahoma City; and numerous cousins from the families of her 24 aunts and uncles.
Memorials may be made to Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 S Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034.
