Agatha Anna Marie Redeker

Celebrate because I had a beautiful life.

It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our Mom and Oma on September 27, 2016.

She leaves to mourn her seven children, Mary (Danny), Connie (Pat), Dorothy (Calvin), Michael (Wanda), Wendy, Edith (Gene) and Janet (Paul). Mom was graced with eleven grandchildren, Cindy (Marcel), Terry, Christopher, Jennifer (Chris), Brigitte (Dave), Michelle, Chad (Tanya), Courtney (Kirk), Taylor (Natalia), Staci and Kelsey and seven great-grandchildren Adalie, Connor, Samantha, Parker, Oliver, Lucas and Liam.

Agatha was one of sixteen children born to Marie Catharina van Lieshout and Marcelus Rutte on August 26, 1932 in Harlem, Holland. She married Peter John Redeker on July 15, 1953 and immediately moved to Canada where they settled in Edmonton, Alberta for the remainder of her life. She was predeceased by her husband in May 2002 and numerous other family members over the course of time. Surviving Agatha are sisters Thea (Kees) Wempe, Hennie Glas, Joke Willemse and Rie Willemse, sister-in-laws Riek Rutte, Toos Rutte, Hermien Rutte and Marijke Preenan, all residing in Holland, and from Edmonton brother-in-law Kees (Marianne) Redeker. She will also be missed by numerous family members with a special mention of her godson Ronald (Cora) Zwarter and chosen children Debbie MacLeod and Brad Pasula.

The celebration of Mom’s life will take place on Monday Oct the 3rd at 10:00 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 13131 – 86 St NW Edmonton, Alberta.
