Arnold “Red”Gilmar passed away Jan.22 at the age of 92. Born in Empress Alberta to Della and Robert, August 5th 1929, one of seven children. Arnold spent his working career at the Imperial Oil Strathcona Refinery as a machinist/millwright and mechanical supervisor. He retired at 55 and became a master bird carver who won many awards for his carvings. Arnold enjoyed a number of winters in Mesa Arizona, with his wife Olga(predeceased). Arnold was a caring, social, active man who loved family, golf, gardening, carving, and time at the lake cottage he built. Arnold will be missed by daughter Gail and son-in-law Gerry Protti, son Kirk and daughter-in-law Kathy, 4 grandchildren and their partners, 3 great grandchildren, surviving sister May, brother Clarence, and numerous nieces and nephews.
