Papa Bryan you are so deeply missed by many. You raised me like your own grandchild. You were the best papa a girl could ask for. I visited you as much as i could, you were always happy and welcoming to me. You helped me with my homework even during your last months. You were always there when i needed advice on anything. You fought such a long and hard battle, you are my hero papa. It is not the same without you anymore. I love you.

Tracy & family,  I was so sorry to hear of your dad passing away.  Please know that you & your family are in our thoughts & prayers. Dr. Bryan D. Ward was President of the Federation of Medical Regulatory Authorities of Canada (FMRAC) in 2009-2010. He will be sorely missed by colleagues and staff at FMRAC, as well as by his friends in medical regulation from all over Canada and, indeed, many parts of the world. Always more than a colleague, he was a dear and valued friend. Bryan, although quiet by demeanor, had great perspicacity and an uncanny ability to scrutinize things thoroughly. During his tenure on the Executive Committee of FMRAC, he played the role of guardian, always on the look-out for hidden meanings and, more importantly, unintended consequences. Never one to be easily fooled, or to suffer fools gladly, his great listening skills and capacity to juggle diverging opinions often led to a better product in the end. A firm believer in the value of a solid team, he provided excellent guidance to the FMRAC Executive Committee and staff when he was President. His voice as the spokesperson for FMRAC was strong and clear, his messages a constant reminder that medical regulatory authorities exist to serve in the best interest of the public.

The world is a darker place without Bryan. I am sorry i cannot be with you on Friday but i will always cherish the time i spent working with Bryan. A professional and loving man that i will dearly miss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr.Ward's passing. I had the great distinct pleasure of working with Dr.Ward at FMRAC. Dr. Ward was always a pleasure to be around and always took time to make me feel appreciated. I loved hearing stories and seeing pictures of all his grandchildren and watch him glow as he showed them off.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Ward family through this difficult time.

We are all so sad about the loss of Bryan - he will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Dr Ward literally made me so confortable when I called the CPSA about an ethical dilema 15 years ago that I subsequently called, then emailed him numerous times until his retirement with other questions.  His wisdom, guidance, and above all, kindness was very much appreciated.  He was a role model that will be missed by a fellow alumni, class of 80.
