Cassie Ozipko

Cassie Ozipko, formerly of Legal, Alberta, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, November 8th, 2012, at the age of 72 years.

Cassie will be proudly and lovingly remembered by her children, Mark (Susan) and Craig (Michelle); her long time partner, Wally Hartfelder; treasured grandchildren Keaton, Kyle, Rowan and Rhys; siblings Harry (Vivian), John (Frances), and Nick (Julie). She was predeceased by her husband, Paul, in 1976. Cassie leaves behind many other family members and dear friends.

Cassie worked hard for all of her life and was a proud and capable farmer. The Ozipko farm grew under her leadership after her husband’s passing. She enjoyed being outdoors: cutting her grass, planting spruce trees, and taking care of her large yard. She took great pleasure and interest in her grandchildren, often including them in her daily chores. She enjoyed visiting her friends and solving the world’s problems over coffee. Her family is thankful that she has been released from her struggle with dementia.

A Memorial Service was held at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St Albert Trail, on Friday, November 16 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to The Alzheimer Society of Alberta, 10531 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5H 4K1.
