Born in Paysandu, Uruguay on December 31, 1941, the eleventh of 13 children, Clemente built a life marked by the death of his beloved mother, hardships, resilience, hard work, and deep love for family.
In 1965 he married Alba, the love of his life, and together they immigrated to Canada in 1975 to pursue opportunities and a better life for himself and his family. Clemente worked for many years at Lilydale in Edmonton, where he was admired for his tireless work ethic, leadership, and ability to fix anything mechanical.
He and Alba raised four children - Adriana (John Tyminski), Clemente Eduardo, Marcelo (Kimberley Slobodian), and Alicia (Rob Huniak) - and he took pride in providing for his family, encouraging them to embrace hard work and enjoy life's simple pleasures. His joy only grew with his grandchildren Amanda, Ashley, Lucas, Nathan, and Isabella, and later with his great-grandchildren Hudson, Paisley, and Emily.
Clemente found happiness in gardening, enjoying all foods and desserts, making homemade wine and beer, delicious bbq, and traveling with Alba to Europe, Mexico and South America. Above all, he will be remembered for his perseverance, generosity, and devotion to his family.
Clemente was predeceased by his parents, Pius Barth and Teresa Ritter, one sister and 8 brothers, his son Clemente Eduardo, and son-in-law John Tyminski. He is survived by his wife Alba, his children Adriana, Marcelo, and Alicia, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends in Canada and Uruguay. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday September 29, 2025 at 9:30 AM at Hainstock's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to CLEAR (Canadians for Leading Edge Alzheimer Research) or at your next dinner, simply raising a glass of wine in his honour, remembering the joy Clemente brought to all our lives.
