Dieter Schumann

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Horst Dietrich Ernst Heinrich (Dieter) Schumann on April 25, 2025, at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his wife, Renate, in 2014.

Born in Schnaittach-Markt, Germany, he was the oldest son of Heinrich and Rosa Schumann. He is survived by his children: Karoline (Steve) and Christine; extended family and cherished friends in Germany and Canada.

Dieter was a kind and caring man, with a passion for choral singing and skiing in the Rockies above all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at All Saints Lutheran Church on May 24th, 2025, at 10:00 AM, 13850-119A Street, Edmonton. All are welcome to attend and share in the memories of Dieter's life. The service will also be livestreamed at the time of service - please join through the link below under "Scheduled Services". In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to http://www.hopemission.com/donate.

There will also be a donated hour of music on CKUA Radio Network 94.9 FM Edmonton's program "Raising Voices" from 9pm to 10 pm on Monday, June 2, 2025 in Dieter's honour.
