Don was born on January 20, 1943 in Calgary, Alberta to the late John (Jack) and Stella Christina (Tena) MacDonald. On June 30, 1962 he married Donna Lee Dallas and they raised two sons - Todd and Tim. He was in the communications industry most of his working career but took a break to pursue his love of farming in the Lacombe area. Don loved all kinds of music but mainly country and western. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit. Besides his parents, Don was predeceased by his sister (Joanne) and brother-in-law (Abe). He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna, and his two sons; Todd (Natalie) and Tim (Lynn), grandson Austin (Shamila) and granddaughters Emma and Abbey plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation has been entrusted to Memories Funeral and Cremation, Edmonton, Alberta.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., at the Belmead Community Centre, 9109 – 182 Street N.W., Edmonton, Alberta.
