Eileen Joycelyn Baptiste

May 3, 1944 - April 11, 2023

The Family of Eileen Baptiste is saddened to announce her passing on April 11, 2023.

She is survived by her Daughters Sharon, Susan and Shirley; siblings Egbert Lashley, Patrick Lashley and Earleen Zephyrine.

Eileen was predeceased by her Husband John Baptiste, Brothers Anthony, Shelford and her Sisters Gemma and Antoinette.

Eileen was born in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, and was the First of 8 Children to Gertrude Susan Lashley (mother) and Egerton Victor Lashley (father). Upon completion of her studies and work experience in Trinidad, she migrated to Canada in 1967 with her husband, John.

Eileen worked as a Medical Secretary for the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) for 25 Years.

Eileen was a dedicated wife and mother, and an excellent cook and baker. Her joy was singing, especially in the Church Choir, and socialising with family and close friends. Eileen was well known for her kind and gentle nature. She will be greatly missed.

The Family would like to express their deepest thanks to St. Joseph's Care Centre who cared for Eileen Baptiste for 5 years showing great diligence, love and immense compassion for her.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday April 25, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. followed by Eileen's Celebration of Life Service, (The Funeral) at 10:00 a.m. at the Hainstock's Funeral Home 9810 34 Ave NW Edmonton, AB with interment at Rosehill Cemetery
