Ninong, as you shine down on us, we are reminded of all the great times we shared; Mom and Dad can contest to this for sure. I have so many memories from weekly sleepovers and weekends camping trips, to even getting parental advice…I remember them all so well. But the one memory I will forever remember was the wonderful heartfelt speech you gave in Jamaica and no matter how old we got as children, you still treated us as your own. Thank you for being my Ninong. You will be forever remembered, forever missed, forever loved.

I love you Tito Ces. The constant kindness you’ve shown to me over the years will never be forgotten, and it makes me happy knowing you are no longer in pain.

Tito Ces, - Part II

 Tito Ces enjoyed good quality music he would always listen to the 8track stereo in his car. I remember listening to Anne Murry, Barry Manilow and Paul Anka just to name a few. 
  I also remember when he bought his high end Marantz home stereo he would explain to me what to listen for and how to adjust the equalizer depending on the music you are listening to. I still enjoy cars and stereo equipment today amongst other things…lol
  We would also go to McNally high school to watch Filipino league basketball ball games.
which was always entertaining if you know what happens during games in that league.
  Tito Ces was a Kind Big Hearted Person.
When I started dating Dorothy and needed a vehicle to pick her up from the airport or a quick Banff getaway. Tito Ces would always allow me to borrow his white centre 
wood panel station wagon or his Mazda 626.
  To me, Tito Ces will always be an influential person - past, present and future. Yes, he is no longer with us on earth, but he will always be a mentor. He will forever be in my heart and mind.
  Thank you for everything you have thought and done for me. 
  In my eyes, I will always remember the greatest “ Bayawak ” who ever lived!

Tito Ces, - Part I

Then, Now and Always I will REMEMBER.
  My memories of Tito Ces goes back to the first few years after our arrival in Canada. Tito ces was very influential in my life as I emulated his passion for the finer things in life. As a young boy Tito ces first introduced me to the style of the time,music and cars, 
  He would ask if I want to accompany him to wash his Celica, Of course I would always say yes. At the car wash he would be quick to point out “ look there’s 5$ pick it up “ I would get to keep the money that he would point out. Funny thing is, in the subsequent car washes, even when I got out of the Celica first to have a look around the wash bay for money, he would always be the one to find the cash….hmmm🤔 I finally caught on to his scheme after a while…lol. He would always say wash your vehicle from top to bottom so you don’t scratch the paint. 
  Tito Ces would also ask if I wanted  to accompany him weather it’s to drop off Tita Rosie at Safeways Westmount , 99 ave. / 118 st. Woodward’s Or Driving Tita to or from the U of A law library. We would often take Groat Road. A few times we had raced against  another well known member of the Filipino community here in Edmonton. Need less to say we or should I say he never lost one.

I will always think of you as my uncle. Though we were never bound by blood, you always treated me (and my sisters), as if we were. I want to give my sincere condolences to Tita Rosie, Charlene, James and the rest of the family and friends mourning the loss. I got to know Tito Ces through his dearly beloved daughter Rochelle. I can recall the first time I met Tito Ces and Tita Rosie in Las Vegas. I was so nervous to meet them. I tried to put on my best face to impress the parents of Rochelle. Right away Tita Rosie was so welcoming and chatty and on the other side of the spectrum, Tito Ces had few words. He didn’t come off as mean, he just had a strong presence and stature, even if he was soft-spoken and of average height.

Then Rochelle got sick and as she got really sick, I quit my job and moved to be with her. Tito Ces welcomed me into his home as if I were family. 

I have seen Tito Ces twice since I returned home from those days. Once for another funeral where he again allowed me to stay in their home and meet my now fiancé. Then again a few years ago here in San Diego were he got to meet my parents. 

I will remember Tito Ces as a man that loved his family. One that showed his love through his service to others. A humble, honest, genuine, calm, quiet man; proof that you don’t have to be vocal to gain love and respect for others. I will also remember his love for hats, a polo and a nice watch. 

I wish I could have been there but please know that I thank you for showing me kindness and love. I’m sure you are with Amang and Rochelle in heaven. May you rest in peace Tito. 

Dear Tito Ces,

I remember when we were young, kuya James and I would have sleep overs all the time. Back then, it seemed like it was every weekend. I was there so often, I called you “Daddy” and Tita Rosie “Mommy”.  I remember you driving us around and I always looked forward to rides in the station wagon because of the rear facing bench seat in the back. Whenever I would get dropped off at your place, Tita Rosie would always tell us to keep it down because you were sleeping. I grew up to learn that it was because you were working night shift. This goes to show how hard working you were. Being kids, I’m sure we did not keep it down, but you never got mad. I’ll always remember the calm, kind person that you were. You can rest easy now in paradise. Say hi to Ate Rochelle and Amang for me. 🦋

Kuya Ces was a man of dignity. His stature, simplicity, calmness, and aura illuminated respect. He was the type of person that deserved and received respect just by his actions and unspoken words. There were many times at family gatherings when the fun was inappropriately noisy but with just a look, we were gratefully silenced to whispers. His look was never offensive or judgemental; it was appreciated. Only a man who was held at such a high regard can have that kind of a positive effect. At times we used this effect on the misbehaved nieces and nephews by saying “Hala, I’m going to tell Tito Ces”. Immediately they would stop but it was never out of fear; it was out of respect for him. The occasional moments we witnessed his sense of humour was always a surprise which made it more memorable and heartfelt. 

We will forever be thankful for being a part of the Salvador family. Kuya Ces, your quiet strength and presence will always be missed. Love, with all our hearts.

Tito Ces is my sister Marian’s Father in Law. My husband and I met him in 2018 and for the short time that we’ve known him, he was instantly a father to us too. He and Tita Rosie welcomed our family to theirs, with open arms and with the warmest embrace ever. He was a silent soul, but with so much wisdom even in his jokes. He may be the quiet one in the corner, just smiling, laughing, joking along with the rest of the group, but the great, tender soul in his stillness will be missed.
