She was born to the late Jose and Antonia Ledesma on February 12, 1945 in Rosario, Cavite,
Philippines as the eldest of 10 children, two preceded her in death. She came to Canada to become a midwife in 1968 which led her to becoming an LPN up until her retirement. Emmy leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband of 41 years, Lamberto Purihin. Her daughter, Emberly, and her son, Embert, a host of nieces & nephews, siblings, family, and many, many friends.
Emmy lived for helping people and dedicated most of her life being a nurse. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She had a radiant light that drew people to her kindness and compassion. She made friends everywhere she went and ensured everyone that she met, felt welcomed and part of the family. Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Colossians 3:12 — “Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience”.
