GUILLERMO FECUNDO
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of our beloved father, husband, brother, and uncle Guillermo Fecundo – affectionately known as Jimmy or Ninong – on July 21, 2025, at the age of 92.
Born in the Philippines on June 22, 1933, Guillermo was one of four children of Petra and Salvador Fecundo. He spent the last 30 years of his life in Edmonton, Alberta, where he made a loving home with his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Raquel Fecundo, and his cherished daughter,Karen Fecundo.
Guillermo was a man of gentle strength, known for his sharp wit, generous heart, and endless trove of stories and jokes. Among his siblings, he was often described as the most intelligent, and he was deeply committed to working tirelessly to support those he loved. Whether through his actions or words,Guillermo had a way of making people laugh, feel seen, and feel at home. He had a special love for music and could often be found seated on his iconic turquoise bench in front of his home, speaker turned up with Anne Murray playing, waving to passersby and chatting with neighbours. His presence became a quiet but meaningful fixture in the community. His love for animals and nature was lifelong, and he passed that appreciation on to many family members. He enjoyed the comfort of home cooked meals, lovingly prepared by his wife, and he loved golf, often practicing his putting technique in the living room. He was happiest living a life of simplicity and calm.
Guillermo will be remembered for his humour, kindness, and light brought into the lives of others. He will be forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew him. The family extends special thanks for Jet and Jing Fecundo and their families for their unwavering support and care for Guillermo, especially during his final
days. Your presence meant the world to him, and to us.
