He was born on May 9, 1928, in Dhamthal, Undivided India. He touched the lives of many people through his celebrated Indian Army career of 33 years. He dedicated his retired life to social service and to the cause of the education of girls in rural Punjab. After immigrating to Canada, he cherished being close to his family. Our family wishes to thank his many caregivers from Homecare, Grey Nuns Hospital, St. Joseph’s nursing home and his family doctor, Dr. Laiman Ma, for their kind and compassionate care.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Satwant Kaur Kahlon and his two children Jasjit Singh Kahlon (Jasmine Kahlon) and Jasneet Kaur Parmar (Surinder Singh Parmar). He will be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren: Raveena, Jaskeerat, Parveen and Mannat (Jaswinder Singh Gill).
