Bruce was born and raised in Edmonton Alberta. After his schooling was complete, Bruce worked at a local service station and drove delivery truck. In the summer of 1952, Bruce’s brother-in-law suggested Bruce try out for the Edmonton Fire Department. The rest was history and Bruce was a proud member of the Edmonton Fire Department for 35 years. He retired at the rank of Senior Station Officer (captain). Bruce loved music and was a proud member of the Edmonton Fire Department’s Marching Band. Bruce played the snare drum and was also a member of the Band’s “Elite Stick Drill Team.” After retiring, Bruce and Carol moved out to Nanaimo B.C where they enjoyed “the good life”. They enjoyed traveling and trailering around the island. One of Bruce and Carol’s favourite spots was the west side of the island, specifically the Tofino/Uculet area. Bruce moved back to Edmonton in the fall of 2017. Shortly thereafter, Bruce became a resident of the Citadel Continuing Care Center where he resided until his passing. Bruce will always be remembered as a loving, caring, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and great grandfather. Bruce loved a good party, loved to laugh and loved family gatherings.
A special thanks to the wonderfully attentive, caring and loving staff at the Citadel Continuing Care Center and the Sturgeon Community Hospital.
At the family’s request, there will be no service, cremation entrusted to Memories Funeral Home.
