Sandy and family,
Our hearts ache for you.  The news of Alan's passing saddened our hearts but brought back many wonderful memories.  I think of our monthly bridge times and especially our gourmet experiences in June with Chef Alan.  He was always such a good sport and took my teasing so graciously.  The best in our word sparrings was when he saved up for that one zinger that trumped all my jests on those nights. Oh how I miss that slim********!  Another great memory was talking math with Alan and sharing a common passion - he was always able to enlighten me as my boys got older and moved on to math that was lost on me.   Steve always appreciated Al's diplomatic interventions on his behalf throughout his teaching career.   Alan has touched many lives and we are part of those fortunate enough to have benefitted from knowing Alan. Our thoughts are with you, and you have our sincere condolences, Sandy but we hope the memories you have will help you through this most difficult time.   We wish you love, hugs and our very best wishes now and always.

Sandy and family, My heart goes out to you all as grieve the loss of a wonderful husband, father and grandpa. Al will be remembered by so many- family, friends, students, teachers and parents. I will remember his smile as the water rockets were set off at Aurora and the excitement he showed at the prospect of leaving his principal hat behind and picking up his teacher hat to help my daughter with Math.He had such a contagious smile. I hope your memories and the shared memories of others will help you through this most difficult time.

Hello Sandy. We were so sorry to read about Alan's passing. We so enjoyed the few visits that we were able to have with the two of you. They became such nice memories for us. We send you and your family our deepest condolences at this difficult time.

Sandy, so sorry to hear of your loss! I fondly remember our chauffeur to the ATA meetings, and often our BBQ chef at our Bridge June get together. Also, Al would be the one to go to the garden and dig up more veggies for us Bridge ladies. I know you and your family will find strength in your memories! hugs!

Such wonderful memories.  Al was the emcee at our wedding.  He was the first to call Mark Wojo.  A name that is still with him.  Our sincere condolences to the family.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Day's passing. He is in my thoughts.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Day.  He was a great man who touched many lives during their high school journey at Frank Maddock High School. May he and Mr. Woods continue to tach on their values and the famous Shuffle that they made sure every student learned how to do that went to Frank Maddock. May Mr. Day rest in peace.  My sincere condolences to the Day Family.

Sandy,my deepest sympathy to you and the boys and their families.....Memories, memories, memories.....FMHS days......Grade 10 I remembering Mr. Day asking me to babysit the 2 boys and on short notice he says...That was a fun night....So many memories come back to me just thinking FMHS and Mr. Day...too many to write......yup the short jokes, Class of 1975 taping him in his chair and shooting him down the hallway ----  the Vice Principal there he goes.....filling his office full of newspaper because he said he had no paperwork to do......playing at noon with him on our volley ball team......just to mention a few.  Mrs. Day I know you have many precious memories of your own.  I hope they help you and your families through the next days, weeks and years.  Treasure them all and share them with others.  RIP Mr. Day ----- see to this day I can't call you anything but Mr. Day.  You will be truly missed by all and treasured by those students who you taught the Frank Maddock Shuffle with Mr. Woods... Yup to two are together now teaching more people that dance.

Sandy, I am very sorry for both yours and the boys loss.  I remember the many times Alan came to school to blast off the "water rockets" on the back play ground. He always had an enthusiasm for teaching and demonstrating science. The staff road rally's that ended at your place were always good times of friendship. My sympathy is with your family.
