With much sadness the family of Janette Bennett announces her passing at the age of 84 years. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her daughters, Dawn of Three Hills, AB and Linda of Edmonton, AB.
She will forever be in the hearts of her grandchildren, Chelsea, Tyler and Nicole, her nieces, Suzanne, Nancy and Terra-Lynn, her nephews, Doug, Jack and Jaret as well as her sister, Rachelle (Terry) and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Janette was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Antoinette Lachance (nee St. Martin) and her brother, George and sister, Connie.
She was a University of Alberta graduate with a keen interest in education and writing having won a scholarship due to high academic standing from St. Joseph’s High School. She taught briefly in Quebec, being fluent in French and later worked for the Edmonton Public School Board as a French/English translator. Having written poetry and many historical stories, libraries became her favourite haunt to pursue her interest in genealogy and sharing this interest with her family. She moved a great deal in her life and always researched the history of the location and wrote a historical summary of all the places she visited.
She will be missed.
