It is with saddened hearts the family of John Giroux announce his sudden passing at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton. John was born in Windsor and moved to Sarnia in 1974. He graduated from Saint Pat’s High School and Sir Sanford Fleming College in Peterborough with a degree in International Trade. His Ontario related jobs took him to Edmonton in 2000 which eventually led to the position of Head of Oil and Gas Canada for JAS Forwarding Worldwide. This enabled him to travel to Europe, Asia, South and Central America.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dad and camping with the family. He took pride in his lawn and flower/vegetable gardens, just like his parents and was known for his delicious meals shared with friends. He leaves behind son Stephen Giroux (St. Albert, Alberta), parents Gary & Carolin (Horvath) Giroux (Wyoming, Ontario), dear sister Christine Nutt (husband Warren Knights) and nephew Matthew Nutt (Camlachie, Ontario)
Our deepest gratitude for support, flowers and meals from JAS International, John’s Edmonton team and neighbors. As per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and returned to Ontario where a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Please sign your organ donation card in memory of John or donate to Edmonton Food Bank or other charity of your choice.
ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS, NEVER FORGOTTEN.
