John Gerald Goldsmith
August 28, 1966 – January 15, 2023
It is with heavy hearts and eternal love, we mourn the passing of John on January 15, 2023. He is lovingly remembered by his Children Heather, Brandon (Morgan), his siblings Deborah (Casey), Barbara (Gordon), Bryan (Darcy), Roger (Marcie), and his many nieces and nephews. Johns love for his family, near and far, runs deep and will always be felt and remembered in our hearts. John was predeceased by his cherished parents, Betty and John. John’s glowing personality was no doubt enjoyed by the many people whose lives he entered over the years. For many years John operated two Esso service stations in St. Albert alongside many lifelong friends. On behalf of John, his family wants to thank Ron and Warren for being pillars of strength in John’s younger years. John’s childhood love for riding the greyhound bus was fulfilled later on in his life when he chose to move on from Esso and become a driver. John’s compassion for his fellow man allowed him to be the perfect person to care for the safety of countless people’s loved ones. John’s free spirit was nourished by many mountain drives, both on the job and with his family. His love for nature and the beauty in our country will always be a reminder to those that love him so dearly that he is always near. To find a best friend in a father, a brother, an uncle, and a cousin is something truly amazing. Our family finds peace knowing John’s battle with cancer was short, and the love that is held in our hearts will continue to bring strength to us at this time. A funeral service to celebrate John’s life will be held at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm.
