It is with great sadness but much love that we mourn the passing of John Alvin Keast, of Edmonton, on the 13th October, 2024 at the age of 78 years. John was born in 1946, in Toronto, and raised by his parents John Edward Keast and Elizabeth Anne Tripp in Havelock, Ontario.
John worked hard all his life, in all types of construction, but found his true calling as a heavy equipment operator. His work, over the years, took him from all over Ontario, across the prairies and to the B.C. coast. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter (rifle and bow) and fisherman.
He will be lovingly remembered by his first wife Kathleen Peden and his children Tanya (Eric Vallis) and Jody (Michelle Campbell); grandchildren Katelyn, Krista, Chesley, Patrick, Savanaha, and Josh; great grandchildren Loclan, Emery, Iris, Luca, and Serena.
John will also be dearly missed by his second wife Martina Keast and his
children Nicole (Robert Gurney), Sharon (Richard Wilson) and Shanon Keast;
grandchildren Clinton, Dylan, Joseph, Braedon, and Taylen.
Cremation has been requested and, at the family’s request, no service will be held. Memorial donations may be made, in John’s name, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
ALWAYS NEAR
Time has taken me from you
Although not very far
I’ll be watching through the sunshine
And through the brightest star
I’ll be watching all of you
From the heavens above
So take good care of each other
And carry all my love
If you’re ever wondering where I am
Here’s where you can start
Take a look inside yourself
Deep within your heart
