Kassie was born to the late John and Mary Kruk in Plain Lake in 1936. After her marriage to Jerry in 1954, they moved to Edmonton, purchased a home and raised two children, Shirley and Kim. When the children started school, she began a career in banking that spanned over three decades.
Jerry and Kassie enjoyed traveling, being members of the antique car club, hosting family and friends and being involved in the many activities at St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Kassie is survived by her daughter Shirley Cammack (Dave) son Kim Kissel (Denise), grandchildren David Cammack, Rachelle Cote (Richard), Thomas Kissel, Matthew Kissel, Andrew Kissel great grandchildren Lucas Cote and Joelle Cote, and sisters Zinnia Lischuk and Rose Tomm (Phil).
Kassie spent her final years at Benevolence Care Center where she won the hearts of the staff. In her days there, she was treated with kindness, respect and dignity.
A public viewing will be held Thursday, June 17th 6:30pm – 8:30pm at Hainstock’s Funeral Home and Crematorium. Private funeral will be held Friday, June 18th at 10am. To view livestream access this link ; https://youtu.be/PVdY27YuUlk
A Celebration of Life will be held once Covid restrictions are lifted.
If so desired, donations in memory of Kassie may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
