I keep reliving the moments from that week, a year ago and it's incredibly hard. I know you wouldn't want us to remember you that way so I'm pushing in all the wonderful memories of you and growing up with you around. You and Aunty Shelly and Brad were such a huge part of my life growing up and I am so grateful for the relationship you and Aunty Shelly had with my mom and dad. I couldn't imagine my childhood any other way. I hold you guys very close to my heart. I know we have all drifted over the years and it makes me so sad that we have, I wish things were different and we were all still close and that i knew you better, I wish so much that I knew you better before you passed. I think about you all the time, I have a picture of you on a little shelf by my back door so I see you every day. You have an amazing family that thinks about you all the time, we love you so much! We were all there for you then and we still are for you now. Hope you 're watching over me every once in a while, listening to what I have to say. Dear Lance, its been a year today that we have had to go on without you. It has not been easy. A year of firsts, a year of  celabration, a year of tears and smiles and even a few laughs.  We think about you every single day. We have so many good memories of all the things we have done together over the years. the family get to gethers, the camping, the parties. A song will come on the radio that will remind us of a special time with you. Les tells Devon stories from back in the day long before I met you. He misses you so much. The two of you together ment we were in for some laughs. We called it Hiebert humour, started by Brad. Though the stories were funny, they seemed to be just a little funnier to the two of you. I often look at pictures of our lives over the past twenty-seven years,we had some great times. The stories of you will go on forever because we your family will never forget. We feel your presence here with us from time to time and take great comfort in it.  We  would give anything to have you with us, just one more time, to here that laugh and see that smile, to have one more conversation or hear one more story. As you look upon us from above I hope we have made you smile from time to time. Our memories of you have brought us smiles. I have a vision of you with dad  up in heaven, him with his pipe and you with your beer, sitting in lawn chairs and watching over us all. hey Lance ..well its been 1 year tomorrow ..wow its been sad without you here ..Miriahs wedding,Carters birth,christmas, its been hard but we know you are there with all of us through EVERYTHING .  you are missed more than i can say Lance. Christmas was very weird cuz i made our brussel sprouts and my brussel buddy was not here to help me eat them. so i had them for days and days till they were all gone 
 YUK! I wish i could hear your laughter everyday cuz it just mad all of us giggle along with you even when your joke was not that funny! lol we missed you at the wedding cuz without you there was not a funny table ..My little carter didn't get to meet you sadly but he sure loves Ryan,and Ryan is all you so he would have just loved u to bits.Shelly and Ryan come over 
and hang out with us a lot on weekends its been nice!

I just can't stop crying today, I miss you so very much. I just felt as though I needed to talk to you, to let you know that I think about you so very often, I know you know that because I feel your presence. When Opa passed away there was a star that appeared that night, and I've always looked up to it at night and talked to him, and I know you are together so I know you hear me too. It is now your star as well! I was so worried when we moved that I wouldn't find that star, but I knew....it would find me, and it has! Just know we are all fine, just miss you terribly. Oma has had a rough year but she is doing much better, tomorrow will be a hard day but knowing you are with her will make it so much easier. She's asked to finally watch your remembrance slideshow, so I'm excited to watch that with her tomorrow, look at all the silly photos of you and all your loved ones. Makes me smile, remembering you just as you always were. I struggle to find the right words to explain being with you, in your room as you passed onto this blessed world where you suffer no pain, and are surrounded by loved ones who have passed before you, but I am blessed that I was there with you, and with the love of your life, and your Mother and the rest of our incredible family.
