Lorna Marilyn Reid (Carney)

Lorna Marilyn Reid (Carney) left earth side peacefully in the arms of her family, to the sounds of her beloved Elvis Presley on June 10, 2023.

Lorna was born in Edmonton, Alberta on May 2, 1940, but spent much of her time at the family farm in Millet, getting into trouble with her cousins. She was a warm, devoted and fun-loving mother to her Willa-Lee aka; little girl, one and only, little brat. She also mothered so many rescue animals over the course of her 83 years. Her marriage to Jady was the greatest highlight of her life and although he left this world 31 years before she still spoke of him daily. We are grateful they are now reunited.

She was a skilled pianist, a talented painter, a tireless accountant for her clients, a golfer, a top-notch Aunty and if you needed someone to get the party going or to giggle at a dirty joke, she was your girl!

She will be dearly missed by her daughter; Willa-Lee (Emmet), her nieces and nephews; Todd (Laurie), Jay (Carolyn), Kelly (Don), Shelley (Trevor), Tanya (Shannon), cousin; Debbie (Ray) and her dog Rocky, as well as the extended family of wonderful cousins.

The family invites you to celebrate this life well lived on June 28, 2023 at The Pioneers Cabin. Viewing begins at 2:00pm, service to start at 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Edmonton Humane Society where Lorna has proudly adopted rescue dogs, or Farm Animal Rescue and Rehoming Movement (FARRM) where she has sponsored Gina the sheep for the past 2 years.
