

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Bernice; stepchildren: Melissa Higgins (John), Brandy Conquergood (Shane) and Conrad Hunter (Katie); grandchildren: Racheal Higgins, Dominic Higgins, Brody Conquergood, Seirra Conquergood, Jack Hunter, Tavis Hunter and Sam Hunter; sister, Tricia (Tom) Hewitt, brother, Wayne (Marilyn) Hennig, brother, Jerry (Lynne) Hennig; as well as nephew, Darren Hennig, nieces, Deana Linton, Kim Dow and Tracy Price. He will also be dearly missed by his numerous relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents: Lena and Reginald Hennig.
Lorne was born in Lamont, AB. His parents lived on a farm until he was 2 years old then moved to the Holyrood area in Edmonton. He attended Holyrood elementary and Bonnie Doon high school. He had several business pursuits and mainly worked with his dad at Strathcona TV. He worked for many years in sales. One of Lorne’s biggest passions was skiing, and he was so good at it.
He met the love of his love, soulmate on August 8, 2003. This started a new life for Lorne, he became Opa, with the birth of seven grandchildren. Lorne’s heart was full of love, pride and joy with these young lives. He lived his lifelong dream of travelling in his motor home with his cargo trailer. Lorne and his wife travelled across Canada and all through the US, they made wonderful memories. He had many hobbies, golfing, skiing, hiking and biking. Lorne was full of life, he never wanted to sit still too long, wanting to enjoy what life had to offer. Lorne was full of laughter and joy. He was a social butterfly, and everyone loved him for that. He will be forever missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Monday, February 19th at Edmonton Moravian Church, 9540 – 83 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB.
Memorial Donations may be made in Lorne Barry Hennig’s name to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Ave. Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2.
