Madonna, the only daughter and seventh child of Joseph and Laura Haughian was born on the family farm in the Neidpath District, Saskatchewan on October 23, 1924. Her mother passed away when Madonna was three years old. She was raised by foster parents, Theodore and Myrtle Guthrie, on their farm in the Neidpath District.
She left the farm at the age of 19, went to Swift Current, Saskatchewan, and took a secretarial (shorthand and typing) course, following which she was employed by the legal firm of Donnelly & Polley, Mobil Oil, and the Comprehensive High School in Swift Current.
She married Gordon Michael Kearns on November 8, 1958, making their home in Swift Current. They were blessed with two sons, Kelly and Gary. Michael passed away on September 11, 1990. On October 7, 1995, Madonna married Cornelius (Con) Keohane, making their home in Red Deer, Alberta. Madonna was also predeceased by her son, Kelly Kearns in 1986; her parents, Joseph and Laura Haughian; her foster parents, Theodore and Myrtle Guthrie; her brothers and their wives Bernard (Mary), Clifford, Leon (Elaine), George (Hazel), Howard (Ivy), DeWayne (Dorothy), and Mark Haughian; her second husband, Cornelius Keohane on November 14, 2009; her step-daughter Patricia Pope; her brother-in-law, Cleveland (Babe) Kearns; her sisters-in-law Aileen (Foster) Logan and Shirley Kearns.
Madonna is survived by her son Gary (Ardis) Kearns and her grandchildren, Kallyn (Kevin) Sobkow (great grandchildren Jayda and Jude Sobkow), and Keenan (Rachel) Kearns; her step-son, Michael (Joyce) Keohane and step-grandchildren, Heather Keohane, Erin Thompson (step-great grandchildren Jack and Evelyn), Paige (Kyle) Hilton (step-great grandson Wyatt); step-son-in-law Bill Pope and step-grandchildren Shannon (Warren) Whitmore (step-great grandchildren Maxine and Alton), Sean Pope, and Kaden Pope. Madonna is also survived by her sister-in-law, Bertha Haughian, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1pm at St. Peter's Parish in Villeneuve, Alberta.
Inurnment will take place at a later date at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
